Leadership Development Opportunities & Service Above Self (Rotary International)

Rotary is a global network of business and professional leaders who work to promote peace and goodwill through various service projects and initiatives. In addition to its humanitarian work, Rotary also offers various opportunities for leadership development that can help individuals develop their skills and take on leadership roles within their communities.

One way that Rotary supports leadership development is through its Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI), which offers courses and seminars on topics such as leadership, team-building, communication, and strategic planning. RLI is designed for both new and experienced Rotarians, and provides an opportunity for members to network with other Rotarians while learning new skills.

Another leadership development opportunity offered by Rotary is its Youth Exchange program, which provides high school students with the opportunity to live and study in another country for a year. This program helps young people develop leadership skills by exposing them to different cultures, languages, and perspectives.

Rotary also offers various scholarships and grants that can help individuals develop their leadership skills. For example, the Rotary Peace Fellowship provides funding for individuals to study in a master's degree program in fields related to peace and conflict resolution. The Rotary Foundation also offers global grants for projects that address humanitarian needs, promote education, and support vocational training.

In addition to these programs, Rotary clubs themselves provide opportunities for members to develop their leadership skills by taking on various leadership roles within the club, such as serving as president, secretary, or treasurer. Rotary also offers training and resources to help members develop their leadership skills and become more effective in their roles.

Overall, Rotary provides a wide range of opportunities for leadership development that can help individuals grow their skills and make a positive impact in their communities. Whether through formal training programs, scholarships, or opportunities within local Rotary clubs, there are many ways for Rotarians to develop their leadership skills and become more effective leaders in their personal and professional lives.
